New Ipads Releases set on October 22nd

iPads. iPads Everywhere.

The iPad is getting a refresh; Apple updates those yearly and there’s no reason to assume that they’ll be breaking that trend anytime soon. Likely we’ll see the debut of the A7X; Apple tends to keep its iPad line to the X processors and that means, among other things, 64-bit architecture on the iPad, but we probably won’t be seeing a quad-core or anything beyond that. Also expect better battery life, a sharper screen, and probably some more emphasis on gaming.
More Versions Of The iPad

Probably the most intriguing hint of the announcement, though, is that the iPad might be going the 5c route. The invitation, which you can see above, states that Apple “still has a lot to cover.” Considering how prone Apple’s marketing department is to twee puns, that’s probably as much literal as figurative.

If we had to guess, Apple will be taking a similar approach that it took to the iPhone; the new model is the flagship, and the previous flagship gets colorful, cheaper cases to be the “budget” option for those who can’t afford the new one. Either that or there are more cover colors in the works, but Apple will have to be pretty desperate before that’s a selling point for their marketing department.

Next Week, We Know

We won’t have long to speculate, of course; October 22nd is Tuesday of next week. But we should be seeing some interesting results from this press conference, especially since the iPad is Apple’s flagship product, these days. So, circle the date on your calendars and get to speculating; we’ll see how close we come Tuesday.
